Support » Plugin: Visual Portfolio » Has potential…

  • This plugin definitely has potential.
Judging from the demos shown on their website.

Unfortunately it appears to suffer from the Gutenberg editor that is being pushed into the WordPress universe. I could not get the plugin to work with the Gutenberg plugin enabled in WP 4.9.8 or the Wp 5.0 Beta.

If I were the creator of the plugin, I would sit tight until about three months after WP 5 has been released and the first updates (read: bug fixes) have been implemented.

UPDATE: please read the entire thread, plugin works as expected.

    Hi @blamedutchie.

Most likely you tried our plugin with the latest Gutenberg update (4.2.0), that breaks our fetching function, so the Visual Portfolio block loading infinitely.

This bug fixed in 1.8.0 plugin update and checked with the latest Gutenberg and WP 5 Beta, everything works for me.

Could you check it? And if it is still not working, could you give me more info, so I can repeat the bug locally.

    Thanks for your swift reply.

    I will check later today.

    Hi @nko,

Just did a quick test on several WP installs and I can confirm that on both the latest beta and the 4.9.8 version your plugin works again.

One thing: in order to open the Settings page, there has to be at least one portfolio item present. If not, notice is shown saying “Can not open settings page”. I don’t know if that is by design, but to me it’s not logical.

Again, thanks for your swift response. Will adjust the amount of stars given.

For me settings page is working fine (opens also when no portfolio items available). Maybe it is conflicted with some 3rd-party plugins or with the theme you use.
