I have a strong password on my site and use the "Limit Logins" plugin
    to frustrate brute force crackers.

However, recently I have noticed all my URLs (except the home page)
have a string appended to the end, starting with a hash symbol.

I have no idea why this appeared, what it means or how to get rid of it.
I think Search Engines ignore hashes so at least it shouldnt be harming
    my search rankings.

    Something like this:

If I disable javascript the string disappears.

    Try deactivating the AddThis plugin.

    Yes. That's what it was.

Can you think of negative consequences.
It's probably safe to leave it alone I think.

Basically the Tracking option in the AddThis plugin causes that. You should be able just disable that option within the plugin and still use it.
