I set up a site a couple of years ago- http://www.bodyrenaissance.co.uk

Until yesterday i had not updated it for about 6 months and now when you visit it, all the content has gone leaving just the banner adverts and headers, and some error messsages.

has it been hacked? My host lost the databases?

If anyone could spare 30 seconds to have a look at the site and tell me?

I am terrified as I dont think i ever did a back up.....

    Thanks v much indeed, esmi

If you had to guess- is it likely that my data has been erased, or merely that the code that was displaying it has been deleted so the data is still there somewhere?

It's probable that malicious scripts have been added to your WordPress install. Your data may still be in your database but it would need to be checked to ensure that it wasn't compromised too.

    Don't lose hope just yet.
When I go to your site, I see an error with a file in your includes directory. Often this just means some files were mangled.

So this is what you do first.
    - I see you are running an ancient version of WordPress, version WordPress 2.9.2, which explains how/why you may have been hacked.
You'll want to confirm this is your version by logging into your dashboard (if you can).
    - Go to Wordpres.org and download the same version here to your computer:
    - Next, extract the file and note the two directories:
    - Now, open your FTP software and upload just these two directories over your existing wp-admin and wp-includes directories.

If all goes well, at least you'll have overwritten any broken files, and can log into your dashboard so you you can work through updating all of your plugins and WP.

    Thanks for all your help.

I can access the dashboard as normal- what the hacker program seems to have done is create about 600 draft posts from my previous published posts.

I've upgraded to the newest version.

Do I still need to replace those files you mentioned? I am guessing right because my site still does not work right, though am asking in case the hack has damaged something else.

    I appreciate your help

If you have managed to get everything updated and working probably don't need to overwrite the files.

Though you'll want to keep an eye on your site for a good while. Cloudsafe365 plugin may be worthwhile to check out.
