Harnessing the power of SQL/WordPress for a newb!

  • Hello
I work at a national games federation with next to no money (since the new Government took our grant away). Our current membership is in the region of 3600 people and the database is an Access db. In the meantime our lovely website (hem-hem, even if I say so myself) sits atop PHP, MySQL and the ever-beautiful WordPress. So (quit yer babbling) –
it would make sense to move the Access membership database into SQL and in the process make it possible for people to join up and pay subs online. However – I haven’t done ANYTHING like this before and could really use some pointers from someone(s) who have attempted (and hopefully succeeded) in similar endeavours. Hands up, then, if you have and form an orderly queue – all help will be gratefully accepted
    Thanks
