Hard breaks/paragraph breaks not working with images

I am trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong with posting multiple pictures in a single blog post and getting them to align correctly.

I’m using Windows Live Writer and they look fine in the web preview. It’s after they are uploaded that the mayhem ensues.

What I’m trying to do is have a picture with accompanying text next to it, then a paragraph or hard break.

Next paragraph, new picture, more text. Possibly even aligned on the opposite side so that the photos stagger down the entry, right, left, right.

Even after I try to hard code breaks with

&nbsp </br>
</br>
</br>

(found on this forum, thx)

they seem to get stripped out. This causes the next picture to align within the previous paragraph instead of in a new paragraph.

Is this a Firefox problem?
