Support » Plugin: Muut – Commenting and Forums Re-Imagined » Handsome, Smart Plug-in with a Heart

  • I wanted a forum that would be attractive and clean, for my website is designed to be a forum only. Muut is just right for what I wanted: a clean and attractive forum that I could embed right into my site. I received live human non-robotic support quickly and at the most obscene times of the evening. I am so grateful to Paul Hughes, who helped me create customized discussion sub-channels that look great on the site/forum. Michael Neil is also wonderfully helpful. Thank you both very much.

Other forums get the job done, but they aren’t ideal if your forum is the heart of your website. I tried a few, but they were ugly. Aside from the appearance of Muut, I appreciate the spirit of it. Its creators wrote a mantra, and at least two of the people who helped me via live support referred to it. They walk the walk, that’s for sure. At first, I was miffed that I couldn’t change what I had posted or delete posts from the forum. But not now. We should think about what we post before we do so. That can be a hard pill to swallow, but words are powerful. We should be heartfelt and thoughtful with them. (I am saying this to myself as much as I am saying it to anyone who reads this.) Muut helps me remember this by insisting that I stand by what I post and not make careless mistakes because I am distracted or in a rush. I appreciate that, and I hope this plugin will start a movement that changes the tone and correctness of many of the comments and discussions taking place online.

    We’re so glad you’re loving Muut! πŸ™‚

We definitely want to bring online forums and commenting back to their roots as facilitators of real, easy, and thriving conversation. Stoked that our manifesto on our website rang true to you; let us know if you need any other help with anything else down the line! πŸ˜€

Does this mean the admin cannot moderate / delete a post at all? Invariably when used on a decent scale, there’s going to be at least one idiot posting something offensive that I’m not going to want on my site. Thanks and looking forward to your answer.

Sorry for the confusion! Yes, administrators and moderators can delete posts. Administrators can also ban users, if need be. I’m with youβ€”the odds of a large forum without the need for those functions at one point or another would be… slim. πŸ˜‰
