    Hi Interwebs!

    I’m crossing my fingers and toes one of you tech wizards can help me with my rather infuriating conundrum. After spending all day customising a pop-up subscribe box, it turns out that the pop-up generates a ‘Something went wrong’ error message whenever I attempt to subscribe a new email. Can someone puh-lease help me? I’ve spent hours troubleshooting and I’m now in too deep to walk away.

    Things you need to know:

    – I’m operating on PHP 7 and I’ve got the most recent WordPress version.

    – On Chrome the dev tools give zero indication of an error but on Firefox, there are two:
    1. Loading mixed (insecure) display content “http://ads.yahoo.com/cms/v1?esig=1~8096029213fdb49bc6c9b48510f5dc96e3146981&nwid=10000856083&sigv=1โ€ on a secure page. (THIS ‘ADS.YAHOO…’ LINK CHANGES AND I DON’T KNOW HOW TO STOP IT BECAUSE I’VE GOT A NOFOLLOW LINK PLUGIN ACTIVE.)
    2. Source map error: Source map error: request failed with status 404
    Resource URL: https://21xxkx3iayri18xvvv2b2snw-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-popup/assets/css/front.min.css?ver=3.0.2
    Source Map URL: maps/front.css.map

    – For the most part I created the pop-up using the Hustle plugin interface, but then also added a few custom bits of CSS in the WordPress Customize live preview, so I’m wondering if this has anything to do with the conflict (pulling at straws here…).

    – As far as I can tell I’ve correctly synced my Mailchimp list to the Hustle plugin using the Mailchimp-generated API token. To clarify, after I pasted it in I clicked ‘Fetch’ and selected the only existing MC list (that already has two subscribers). I don’t have any groups within the list so not sure if this is affecting things.

    – Finally, wondered if there was a conflict coming from the Mailchimp for WordPress plugin. I deactivated this and it didn’t change things i.e. I still received the ‘Something went wrong’ error message.

    ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS? I can just tell it’s something to do with the Mailchimp/plugin syncing but I just don’t know what I’ve done wrong.

    HALP! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hey @cultwhy,

    Hope you’re well.

    I can see the problem on your site, but I can’t replicate it from my test site. When I try it, it works normally for my site. I don’t think there is a problem with your MailChimp credentials because you can already fetch list. But there can be a plugin conflict or theme conflict. Did you try full conflict tests?

    You need to deactivate all plugins and try only with Hustle, if still have the same problem also try with default Twenty Seventeen theme.

    If it does not help can you check WordPress debug logging too? You need to edit wp-config.php file to place these codes;

    /* Debug Settings */
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
    /* End of Debug Settings */

    Then try Hustle again and check wp-content folder. Is there debug.log file? If yes please share the content with us.

    Cheers,
    Oguz
