    Regardless of the rights and wrongs of charging for functionality that was previously free, when I saw this plugin was moving to a paid upgrade for some of the extensions, I bought the bundle because I like to support developers.

    Wish I hadn’t.

    I tried upgrading the plugin, installing the extensions and reinstating the configuration I needed, but was unsuccessful. My login page broke for reasons not entirely clear, and some of the functionality from the old version is missing – where’s the list of available variables for emails? Do they still work in this version?

    Where’s the “Enable theme-my-login.css” option that used to be available in the general settings? Now my styles on my login page are broken!

    Anyone looked for the documentation? Don’t bother! If you can find it at all, you’ll see the developer hasn’t rewritten it yet for the new version and most of the headings are empty.

    This is a major upgrade, and any removed or changed features should have been highlighted and explained. If you’re going to release a paid plugin, you have a moral obligation to release the documentation at the same time so that users can be prepared.

    Very disappointed.

    We’re sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the update. We have released version 7.0.1, which should hopefully address some of the issues you are experiencing. Also, we are currently working on documentation.

    So what has happened to the “variables” in custom notifications? Why don’t they work any more? These means I’ve effectively paid for a plugin that has less functionality than the free one it replaced!

    And what am I supposed to put in the “recipient” field in a custom notification?
