# Had Malware, Checking database

 * Hello everyone…
    I was recently brought into a project where the client had two
   sites that were infected with malware. One was really bad with over 150 files
   affected.
 * I installed Wordfence and went through each file rmoving bogus files and removing
   the bad code out of the files that had the code inside them.
 * I re-ran Wordfence a few times and my scans are coming back clean now.
 * However, I’m a bit on the paranoia side so I downloaded the database and opened
   the file in a text editor and I’ve run across a ton of data that looks like this.
 * Is this a sign that the database has been corrupted? What is this, all these 
   strange characters in the database file.
 * The website seems functional but this doesn’t look right. Can anyone advise me
   on what to do with this and how to proceed.
