• [Google translate, sorry … I speak French] Hello, my website has been hacked. I could no longer log in as an administrator. So I downloaded the website completely by FTP and deleted it from my host (which required it because it contained malicious code). Is there a way to clean it and reinstall it cleanly? Note that I am a beginner with WordPress. Thank you very much for your help. Sincerely, Manu

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

For support en francais, I recommend trying at a forum from the official list instead.

Since it’s harder to hack a database than site files, it could be your database is fine. You could do a fresh install of WordPress, Import your database, logging in with your previous Admin Login, as see how things are. Reinstalling all your Plugins would need to be done but most of your previous site is in the database.

Also, whenever you do get your site running properly again “Install a Backup Plugin” and take regular (daily or weekly) backups and if, pray tell it doesn’t happen, you ever get hacked again it be much easier to restore your site.
