Dear Forum Members
I am hoping that I will be able to get some advice or help here.
I have installed several blogs on the roots of individal domains and filled them with unique content. After a few days unfortunately my sites get hacked and the index.php file is changed to that of the hackers. He also changes the admin email to his own gmail address. This has happened several times before and I have been through and changed all of the admin usernames and passwords to complex and unique ones (after removing the hacker’s email address). Somehow the hacker is still able to access my blogs and install his own information.
I am using the latest version of WP (2.8.2). I have used various plugins on different sites, but even on a completely fresh install which included only the Akismet and Hello Dolly plugin he was still able to get access. I use different themes on each site so I don’t think it is a theme issue.
Is there anything I can do to eliminate this hacker and to protect my sites from being compromised in the future?
Thank you for your help.
