# HACK REQUEST: Hiding categories

 * I am trying to make WP to be like an article manager, but articles that are not
   in the “General” categories are still showing on the main page. So hereby I ask
   for a hack that lists the categories that I can hide from the index page, yet
   it’ll still show once I click on the category link.

 * you can use an if statement with the in_category function to hide entries from
   certain categories.
    you could also try the first part of the [miniblog tutorial](http://wordpress.org/support/3/7656).
