# Hack – Random Post order

 * Hey!
 * Just wondering if you are able to display posts in a category page in a random
   order? I tried it using this code [http://www.wprecipes.com/how-to-randomize-posts-orde](http://www.wprecipes.com/how-to-randomize-posts-order)
   r , but it displayed all categories on a page, not the category I was on.
 * In the above link there is an option to add the cat id to the query, but I have
   at least 30 categories, so wondering if there is a quicker way to do it instead
   of doing conditional tags for each category.
