Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, every review no matter what matters. I wanted to dig a bit more into why you feel this way. What do you feel in Gutenberg is destroying WordPress? Is there anything you feel is good about the project?
I build websites for a living, I am not blogging, I don’t need anything to help me write code.
The current plugin is slow, and continually crashes, it tells me I have to use tabs for indentation, even though I did, the title tag in the editor is the same as the title on the front end, so my open tabs look the same in my browser so I can’t tell which tab is which without clicking on them, If you paste anything, there is a delay before the page will scroll. Custom Quick tags no longer work, meta boxes no longer work, the plugin adds inline css to the html code, it doesn’t write valid css, the code view is full of comments that clutter the editor, the block working space has a max-width of only 638px wide, when my screen is 2560px wide, everything I do take way more clicks, I could go on and on. It is terrible, it is not something a web developer would ever want to use, unless they were forced to. Fortunately, I decide how the 100+ sites I build a year get built. I will never use WordPress again, unless it is a forked copy of the current WordPress version or older. All of my current clients sites on WordPress will slowly get rebuilt without WordPress, I have already started. TinyMCE finally works fine, without any bugs and millions of people know how to manipulate it to make it do what they need on a per project basis, and now it is being replaced? That is ignorant.

Instead of hiding bad reviews, why don’t you listen to them?

What i had intended to do, was remove my own response in this review, but I will leave it for posterity at this time.
I’d note that your gripes with writing code sounds to be part of the CodeMirror change, introduced in 4.9, and not a Gutenberg issue it self. You are also able to do custom HTML blocks, if that’s more your style once 5.0 comes around, or you could look to alternatives like the Classic Editor plugin. I would strongly encourage you to look at the benefits Gutenberg bring before resolving to the classic editor plugin though, as you may now see the downsides, but by the time it\s ready for release those may have been addressed, and you see the benefits to your customers and other end users in the more simplistic approach (whom among us haven’t torn out a few hairs trying to make those darned shortcodes nest and work, when all we wanted was a nice visual block to work with for example?)
No, my gripes are with Gutenberg, I love Code Mirror, because unlike Gutenberg, it is for writing code, which is what I use WordPress for… and the custom HTML blocks are terrible and don’t function as expected, and even if they did, I can’t see my work because the input field looks like it was designed for a mobile phone, why does it have a max width of only 638px wide? WE DON’T WANT BLOCKS – you guys aren’t listening to the reviews, and most of the world don’t even know about Gutenberg yet, wait until the world finds out what you are doing, then you will see the bad reviews. Use the Classic Editor plugin? Why would you create a plugin to disable a feature? Plugins are supposed to be used when you need to add features, not disable them.
