Support » Fixing WordPress » Gutenberg keeps adding random code!

  • Hello.

This has been happening ever since the update.

Whenever I publish a blog on my site, I always check to see how it looks on mobile. 90% of the times when I do publish a blog, I find something like this:

I’m viewing my blog in mobile by using the inspect function when you right click on any page.

That example isn’t as bad. Sometimes I have 5 words going off the page.

When I check the code editor in the back end, I usually find this:

Why do random &nbsp tags keep showing up? I understand that they’re the code for a space, but why does it always show up?

  • I’m guessing there’s not going to be a fix for at least a year. The only solution I have for all of you right now is to preview your posts before publishing them and viewing them in mobile mode.

If you randomly see your text spanning out to the edge of the Earth, go back into your editor and either remove the random pieces of code or paste as plain text again.

I check my posts in mobile view at least 5 times before publishing them, I suggest you do too.
