    Hey guys,

Does anyone have a solution to fix Gutenberg’s broken editor?

Buttons and layout are in mess and can’t do anything with a page.
Here’s how editor page is currently displayed http://prntscr.com/10fgof7

I have tried deactivating all plugins, switching themes and still have this problem.
Even tried WordPress version rollback to older and still have this issue.

Only solution is to use a classic editor but even on the classic editor I have problems uploading featured media picture, here is how the page is displayed when I click on “set featured picture” http://prntscr.com/10fgsvo

Tried another browser, devices, and no help so far.

If this can be fixed without setting up a complete WordPress site from the start that would be awesome.

Hopefully, someone has a quick fix for this. 🙏

    Greetings! 🙂

Have you tried changing the theme to a standard WP theme like twentytwentyone?

Are there any errors in the browser’s error console: Chrome Developer Tools or Firefox Developer Tools.

Yes, I tried switching the theme to standard one, same issue.

I have another site with the same theme but don’t have issues like this.

Here is the console error: https://prnt.sc/10fh7xm

A couple of things to try:

    1. Install the Gutenberg plugin. This gives you the features that have not yet been added to core.

    2. Install the plugin “JQuery Migrate Helper”, in case it’s a jQuery issue.

    The second option helps.

Installed JQuery Migrate Helper plugin and block editor is back to normal.

    Appreciate your assistance, Steven.

    Have a good one!

Interesting. You’re on WP version 5.6.2?

    Yes, 5.6.2 version.

I’m clueless about what happened, just found out today that the site block editor not working properly.

If someone else encounters the same issue hopefully they can find this thread.

The jQuery migrate plugin likely fixed your problem because you have a plugin or theme that doesn’t work with the latest jQuery.

You should still determine which plugin is causing the problem, because the block editor does work with the latest jQuery.

Whatever is the root cause of the issue is only being hidden by the migrate plugin. Using it is not a permanent solution.

I’ll try to locate the problem and write more info here. Need to learn what Jquery is first. 🙂
Switching to standard theme and disabling plugins didn’t help much to locate it.
Note that I have another site with a similar setup & theme without this problem. 🤷‍♂️
Or, I’m doing something wrong 😅
