# Gutenberg Beta Plugin

 * It is not clear to me whether the Gutenberg Ramp plugin requires the Gutenberg
   beta plugin to be installed. If so, I would have thought this would be in the
   installation instructions. Can someone please clarify.

 * Hi,
 * Although it won’t cause problems by not having the Gutenberg plugin installed,
   it won’t do anything either without it. So, yes, you ideally need to install 
   it as well.
 * I’ve opened up a ticket on Github to get this clarified in the documentation –

 * Thanks. One further question: does the Gutenberg plugin need to be activated 
   after it is installed, or is it sufficient for the plugin to be installed but
   unactivated for Gutenberg Ramp to work?
