    Hi,

    I accidentally clicked the udate GUIDS button and of course I did not back up my site before doing this. Is this going to cause any serious problems for my site? So far my E-mail stopped working but I believe this is an unrelated issue. I am just wondering what to expect now / if there is any way to change back. I read that the GUIDS shouldn’t change because feed readers will see the things they have already read as unread, however my website is brand new so that shouldnt be an issue.

    Thanks for using our plugin. Because your website is new, updating the GUIDs does not cause a problem.

    The GUIDs are typically only used by websites and services that syndicate your feeds. The GUIDs are used as a ‘record’ of what posts have been syndicated. When these change, the services will believe that this post is new and will syndicate your posts again. But as your website is new, this is likely not a problem.
