• We are looking to transfer a WordPress.com blog to a self-hosted site. I am well familiar with WordPress, so I could easily do this myself, however, the site was using a premium theme (Forefront by Automattic) and there seemed to be no way to transfer the theme as well.

“Guided Transfer” to the rescue. A quick check confirmed that we could indeed continue to use the theme on the self-hosted site. Great news!

We then purchased the Guided Transfer, only to realize that “preferred hosts” actually means “the only 2 supported hosts”. Although English is not my first language, I would like to argue the use of “preferred” here…

So my question is what can we do now? Is it possible for one of the “happyness engineers” to make an exception and transfer the self-hosted blog to another hoster (since we have already signed a hosting contract there)?
We have already pre-installed WordPress 4.0 and there’s a wp-config.php on the webspace, so the rest is more or less only exporting contents + the theme and importing them on the new webspace.

    Thank you for your help.
