• When enabled, GTIN, MPN and brand fields are added automatically to product page.
I really don’t want to show this fields to my customers, I only use them in Google Feed.

I think an option to show or not this fields would better to just show then. I can even display:none this fields, but the <br> I cant so some useless space are added to my layout.

Thanks and keep your good work.

    Thanks for using our plugin!

If you have GTIN, MPN, etc. populated for your products, don’t you want to have them added to the structured data on product pages as well? This way you can help Google retrieve information about your products.

Google’s requirement for structured data is that it should also be visible to users: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6386198 (see the last paragraph there).

We can easily add an option to hide product identifiers from the structured data but it would be great to understand why it could be useful. E.g., why would somebody want to make their product pages less visible on Google?

    Thanks for your response.
I doesn’t know this information must be also in product page, I was just sending them through XML feed.

I was trying to remove mostly by 2 reasons:
    1) It adds an extra BR in my layout, but I already found cr_productids_separator filter to deal with it.

    2) It doesn’t handle variations. In my case, my parent product doesn’t have a GTIN, but all my variations has. When I select a variation, REF field change to variation by default, but GTIN, Brand, etc are still the same. Does this affect google?

    Thanks again.

    Thanks for providing additional information.

Please update the plugin to the version 3.125.

    – There is now a setting to disable adding product identifiers to structured data and HTML on product pages (“Structured Data” checkbox on “Product Identifiers” tab on “Google” page).

    – Product identifiers for variations should now get updated on product pages after you select a different variation.

If you experience any issues, please let me know.

    Thanks for your return.

In my first test, GTIN only appear (and change) for variations if parent product has a GTIN code. When parent don’t have GTIN, cr_gtin tag ins’t included in product page and also won’t change for variations.
All my variable products has this configuration. Parent product never has a GTIN as each variation has it own GTIN code.

    PS.
I’m translating your plugin to pt_BR. Glad you started break shortcode instructions in smaller blocks. It’s way better to translate. 🙂

Can you please update the plugin to the version 3.126 and test GTIN for variable products one more time?
