 * Of course I’m writing because I have a problem that I hope to solve. But first
   I’d like to point something out.
 * Because I have an issue, I’ve searched high and low to figure it out on my own,
   and from what I can gather, every “Mulitsite Not Working” thread has a different
   solution. In my opinion, I believe the Multisite documentation could be a little
   more descriptive and “laymen”. After all, a lot of “laymen” use WordPress and
   sometimes we/they need a definitive set of instructions.
 * About 3 months ago I tried to install Multisite and gave up after a few hours
   of trying. 1 month ago, tried ago, and gave up. Now I’m back to try again and
   realize I need help.
 * I really like [@ipstenu](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ipstenu/) (Mika
   Epstein) and [@andrea](https://wordpress.org/support/users/andrea/) Rennick because
   they have answered every question to the best of their ability. So thank for
   that!
 * I have Godaddy Ultimate hosting (no ssl or dedicated IP). (I know, they suck,
   blah blah blah).
    Operating System – LINUX PHP Version – 5.4 I have 13 hosted
   domains and 10 of them have WordPress installed. Once I get multisite working,
   each domain will be mapped.
 * I want to consolidate them into mulitsites (w/ sub-directories) but cannot get
   it to work properly.
 * My folder structure is as such
 * /home/content/##/####/html – No WP install
    /home/content/##/####/html/site1 –
   Separate Install /home/content/##/####/html/site2 – Separate Install /home/content/##/####/
   html/site3 – Separate Install /home/content/##/####/html/site4 – Separate Install
   and so on…
 * I chose one (ie. site3) and enabled multisite. Once I undated the htaccess and
   wpconfig within folder “site3” and logged in, the multisite dashboard appears.
 * The problem comes when creating a new site.
 * I add the sub-directory (Site Address), name and email. It creates the new site,
   but accessing the Dashboard returns a 404 or sometimes Internal Server Error.
 * I previously had Better WP Security Enabled for the Network, but disabled and
   updated the htaccess to default from “Network Setup” area.
 * I can see the front end of the new site but it appears to be missing the css.
   And the admin bar is missing. Before disabling better WP Security, I couldn’t
   get to the front end. So some progress.
 * Where should I go from here?
 * Thank you in advance!
 * Nick

 * Do you happen to have any other plugins active? Is the CSS also missing with
   a default theme like Twenty Fourteen?
 * Can you look at the page source code and see the link to the style-sheet? What
   is it?
 * You have something like this in your wp-config.php?
 *     ```
       define('MULTISITE', true);
       define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false);
       define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'site3.com');
       define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
       ```
 * Did you by chance use the one-click Multisite installer in your hosting panel?
   There were some threads last week with problems related to that.
 * If the above advice didn’t help, make sure that AllowOverride is set to “all”
   or “options all” in your httpd.conf
 * Sorry for the delay guys, and thank you for the help.
 * No, the css is not missing with the default 2014 theme. But the admin bar is
   and accessing the dashboard is “500 Internal Server Error”.
 * No, I did not use the one-click multisite installer from Godaddy. I don’t even
   know if they have one.
 * I have the following plugins active (Network Enabled.)
 * Contact Form 7
    Smart Cleanup Tools WooCommerce WordPress Importer
 * And these are installed but, not active:
    Better WP Security Ultimate Coming
   Soon Page Wordfence Security
 * My wp-config looks this:
 * > /* Multisite */
   >  define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true);
   > define(‘MULTISITE’, true);
   >  define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, false); define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’,‘
   > site3.com’); define(‘PATH_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘/’); define(‘SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE’,
   > 1); define(‘BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE’, 1);
 * Thank you!
 * I’m think that because I’m on Godaddy shared hosting, and DO NOT have wordpress
   installed in the “/html/” folder (root), that might be the issue.
 * So is possible to have “/html/site3/” as a mulitsite?
 * When I set up the account I used a “fake” domain as the primary so that I could
   have each site in it’s own folder.
 * Maybe.
 * If /html/site3/ is adomain.com in the browser, then yes 🙂
