    Hello,
I wonder if this is possible, I’m sure it is but I don’t know where to look. I run a news site and need to know if you can group posts together under one post, like CNN and MSNBC do with a major news story.

    Thanks for the help,
    Gregory S.

If I understand what you want to do, you want to write a series of different articles (all tagged the same, “watergate”) and then write another one, and in it, put a list of all the related articles. Is that right?

Then you might want to look at this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/posts-by-tag/

It will let you do that, if you have the articles tagged, and if you use a short-code, it should work.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it out.

I’m also looking for an option to manually select articles and group them together. For example, I wrote an article about Steve Jobs resigning from Apple and we get articles from CNET News. I would like to add those articles to the article I wrote.

It may be complex to do (especially since the articles from CNET are in a custom-post-type) but I’m willing to give it a try.

If you tag those articles, even if you didn’t write them, you should be ok.

Thanks. I will try it out tomorrow. Does Post by tag work with custom post types as well?

Post by tag had mixed results. Are there other options?

I’ve figured out how to create my own groupings with taxonomies. Thanks for the suggestion, chrislema.
