    Hello!

We are building a small church website and find your plugin’s functionality very intriguing. Certainly much lighter than bbpress and buddypress!

We have a question: is it possible to have a group leader (say John Smith) be the group leader of multiple groups (say Group A and Group B) and still interact with them?

The reason we are asking is that we would like to have our group leaders take charge of multiple groups. So John Smith would have his two groups, Group A and Group B who start at different times and have different people, but he’d like to mentor both groups and have discussions.

Currently with 1.0.1 this functionality doesn’t seem to be working unless I’m doing something incorrect. Currently we have Group Leader in charge of two groups. He can interact with Group A which was created first and associated with Course A. Group B was created later and associated with Course A. He tries to interact with Group B but none of his posts show up for Group B members, just Group A.

Is it possible to have this functionality or are we asking for the impossible?

    Thanks and God Bless!

Sorry for this very late reply.

Yes, I designed this plugin to work in every possible group leader situation, even if the group leader is not registered to the course.

    Good day Mr. Hall!

Thank you for your response! I hope all is well with you in your life!

Unfortunately, it does not seem to work at the moment. As I mentioned previously, we have a single person acting as group leader of multiple groups. The group leader can only interact with a single group and no other groups.

So, Group Leader has two groups, Group A and Group B in the same exact course at the same exact time. Currently the behavior is showing his comments for only Group A and not Group B. Is this how it is supposed to work, or is this the incorrect behavior?

Please let me know at your earliest convenience!

    Thank you and God Bless!

Hi: I misread your first issue.

You issue is outside the scope of this plugin. Group Leaders (GL) in LearnDash typically address comments in the WordPress dashboard.

This is normal for LearnDash Group rules.
If you have one GL in 2 groups that have the same course, LearnDash rules are defined that the first group will be the prominent one. This means you will always see the comments of the first group while in the same course. to put things in perspective, another LearnDash rule is, administrators see everything.

I do have a premium plugin at http://learning-templates.com/index.php/product/learndash-group-management/ that allows the GL to manually select groups and view the unapproved comments for that group in the same course.
This plugin provides a suite of front-end GL tools that allow the GL to select the group they want to address and it provides a link to view non-approved comments for each course even if the GL is in the same course in multiple groups. You can view the shortcodes in action on my development site at http://lms.products-and-services.ca/index.php/group-leader/ – Login as user tc1 with password tc1 and scroll down to the My Groups Report, then select any Group name from the Groups menu.
Changing Group names will let you see the same courses and statuses for different groups. The tc1 user is registered as a GL for many groups with the same courses in them.

Don’t mind the mess, I’m developing some new functionality for the plugin 😉

    Best Regards,
    Dennis Hall

    Looks quite good! Best wishes!

And thank you for your time and patience. I’ll speak with my project director to see where he wants to go from here.

    Thank you and God Bless!
