Support » Plugin: Invite Anyone » Group Invites causing blow-up

  • Your plugin is crashing when used with Buddypress version 5+ because they changed the params for the function groups_send_invites().

Here is the message I am getting:

Notice: groups_send_invites was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 5.0.0! Arguments passed to groups_send_invites should be in an associative array. See the inline documentation at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wp53\wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-groups\bp-groups-functions.php for more details. in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wp53\wp-includes\functions.php on line 4865

This is taking place in the function invite_anyone_catch_group_invites(), inside group-invites.php on line #199.

Thanks for the note about this. It sounds like it’s not crashing, it’s just causing a deprecation error to show up in your logs. I’ve created a ticket to ensure that this is addressed for the next release: https://github.com/boonebgorges/invite-anyone/issues/162

Excellent´╝ü thank you for keeping the plugin active

Not sure anything has been done to the plugin to improve it yet. Whenever I send invites, I don’t see any record under Manage Invitations. Also, my site users do not get notified in any way. Please, check.

Hi @boonebgorges, kindly look into my query. Thanks.

@gclefapp – Sorry to hear you’re having problems.

If invites are not being generated, it would explain both symptoms you’ve described.

It’s hard to know what might be happening. Perhaps you could explain the exact steps that you’ve taken when you say “whenever I send invites” – exactly what are you doing, and what kind of feedback do you see?
