• Hey, was wondering if perhaps someone here knows some good sources to look up, or has some advice to share on this.

A little background. I’m an engineering student, soon to take a master’s degree, and lately I’ve started working on a few videos and other on-line content, presenting some of the stuff that I study to people outside my own rather narrow field. I do quite a lot of teaching on the side, so this has mostly just been a fun little hobby expanding on that. But lately I’ve started thinking – I really enjoy doing these presentations on physics and space technology engineering, and I have a small, well, call it a fanbase, who seem to enjoy watching it. It would be fun if I could start doing it more regularly – which by necessity would mean it has to help pay food and rent.

So yea, basically I am considering the possibility of jumping into the game of monetizing on-line content. I know about youtube and blip and such, but to be honest, I’m rather happy keeping it all simple; doing original content and uploading it to my own site. Besides, video is far from the only thing I’m doing. So what I’m searching for is in essence two things:
    A) Good sources to read up on the legal aspects.
    B) Good sources on the technicalities of using WP for this purpose – be it pay-for-content or having advertisers.

Main reason I’m asking here is that, well, yea, there seems to be a lot of MAKE 2000 DOLLARS A WEEK stuff out there, making it rather hard for a newbie to sift out good info. I haven’t fully decided if I want to take this route, but if I do, I want to know what I’m doing beforehand. So yea, a lot of meandering for a simple question, but if anyone has any good sources/advice to share I’d be very grateful!

This is sort of inappropriate for this particular forum. I would suggest trying a more specific forum instead of a WordPress support forum.
