I’m evaluating Eventin for replacing The Events Calendar which has been consistently buggy. At any rate Eventin support has been excellent through this process and has addressed every issue that I brought up with them. I think this may be the most important single attribute for a WordPress plugin. I like WordPress a lot but the more I use it the more I recognize that its greatest strength is also a major weakness.
The strength is the vast array of plugins, themes, extensions, and products that are available for the platform. It can do pretty much anything that you can imagine and new functionality is usually just a download away.
However, this diversity equals complexity and complexity can, and does, lead to fragility. When you buy into WordPress you pretty much buy into problems – and I mean that in a good way.
This is why good support is critical and why I’m going to migrate my site to Eventin. The plugin does everything that TEC does for a fraction of the price and the pre-sales support that I’ve received gives me confidence that if/when I do run into problems the Eventin team will be there to back me up.
