Problem with restore – I had an information “PHP EXECUTION TIME ERROR” and it failed.

First of all, you have to set PHP Timeout = -1 on your server so that the PHP execution time has no limit, then you can change it back to its previous value after you have successfully restored the backup.
Second thing, I had the same type of error. The BackupGuard team found that there was a bug in the plugin that was causing this error and they just released a new version correcting it, please update to the new version and see if it works for you now.
I tried with timeout = – 1 and still nothing.
