• I replaced Jetpack Stats with Koko Analytics (after the old JP stats went away). I’d like to think that my site has gotten a little bit faster because of this actually, since stats aren’t handled with an additional external connection.

And I never thought about this before, but the fact that I have the statistics data in my own database now, instead of it being stored on Automattic’s servers, feels really, really good. It’s great to truly own one’s data, and this plugin helps with that.

The free version does everything I need, but I may purchase the Pro version just to show support. That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing a subtle call for a donation of any amount, in addition to the Pro version offer.

Thank you for the suggestion! I like the idea, but we used to have an OpenCollective where you could also do one-off donations, but it was practically never used. We may start offering another donation option in the future, but there are some complexities surrounding it related to bookkeeping and EU VAT obligations.

To summarize: purchasing Koko Analytics Pro and then immediately canceling your account subscription if you don’t actually need any of the Pro features is a lot easier for us since it automates the tax collection and invoice creation.
