I have been using for a number of years, however as others point out its rather buggy and lacks frequent updates or support. With a recent update to PHP8 on my site it breaks my posts so I have unfortunately had to deactivate it. Shame as I haven’t found a similar plugin…

not sure, what exactly your issue is.
I had an issue with that plugin as well so that all posts or pages, which contains statements with [sgpx …] crashed.
Solution was: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/update-gpx-map-to-1-7-10-brings-a-critical-php-error-2/

@bastianonm did a great job, but … It is a pity.

I you don’t use the NextGen Gallery, maybe Extensions for Leaflet Map is an option for you. It has a help to migrate from WP GPX Maps.
