• This is a great plugin for adding share button to your site. I especially appreciate that it works with The Events Calendar plugin on individual events. I took off one star because the interface is a bit clunky and the customization options for buttons (could be overcome with some custom CSS) are limited. Also, it wasn’t clearly stated that the availability of sharing destinations was dependent on the browser from which you are sharing (sharing options on Android is better than the desktop counterparts). For instance, sharing on the desktop browser only shares to your personal Facebook feed, whereas sharing from the Android browsers allow Facebook feed, groups and pages.

    Hi @proximitas
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and kind words about the plugin! I’m glad to hear you’re finding it useful, especially with The Events Calendar plugin.

Let me clarify the points you raised, which are very valid and appreciated:

    1) Interface and customization options:
We intentionally designed the settings page to be minimal and organized by sections to help users easily navigate and make targeted changes. For example:

    • Fallback: Controls related to how the plugin behaves when native share isn’t available.
    • Floating: Manages the behavior and placement of the floating share button.
    • Appearance: Lets you adjust how the share buttons are displayed on the frontend.

That said, we’re always open to improving the experience. If you have suggestions for improving the UI or a better layout in mind, feel free to email us, we’d be happy to consider it for future updates.

    2) Sharing destinations based on browser and device:
You’re absolutely right. The availability of share options depends on the browser, device, and the apps installed. For example, mobile browsers (especially on Android) support a wider range of destinations like Facebook groups, pages, or stories, while desktop browsers are more limited, typically allowing just the personal feed or the page feeds as their URL parameters API for the desktop app and website is only for it.

This behavior comes from how each platform and app interprets the Web Share API, which our plugin uses for sharing. Since this interpretation can vary and is out of our control, we haven’t listed specific platform behaviors other than the details of the native share-supported browsers over the FAQ and within the settings page as the first paragraph.

Thanks again for your honest feedback.
