    @ftrippel – I just noticed you’ve changed your review from “Great plugin that gets you started!” to “Average”.

    I’m sorry we’ve disappointed you … would you be so kind to let us know what you believe is missing from the plugin?

    Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion here, through this review.

    Much love,
    /Cristian.

    Actually, I thought I had given the rating to another plugin. After I realized my mistake I changed the review.

    This plugin has nice screenshots, but when I try it out in free mode I can do only little with it. Maybe you should provide a free trial month in which I can try all of the features to achieve similar results like on the screenshots.

    @ftrippel – everything you see in those screenshots can be achieved with the free version. Could you please let me know what issues you’ve ran into?

    I’m more than happy to help you achieve the desired results …

    /Cristian.

    (1) I could not turn the hover effect off, although I have set it to “None” it is still there.

    (2) when I view the page in mobile mode, the pictures are really small. When I enable “Responsivenss | Custom responsiveness” it works, but now the pictures are enlarged when viewing the page in mobile. Anyway, this is a better experience than when the pictures are small.

    (3) The whole sizing behavior is a bit unclear to me. I now use “Custom grid”. The drag UI is quite nice (credit for that). Are images always centered or stretched? If images are smaller than the frame, can I chose a color that will fill “the space” around the too-small image? Provide an option for having images strechted as opposed to centered, if someone prefers that.

    (4) When I edit the Custom CSS and save-reload then my CSS is “refactored” which makes it hard to read

    (1) The hover effect is now gone. I don’t know why, I did not change sth. particularly related to hovering.

    @ftrippel – could I, please, get your site’s URL? The CSS shouldn’t get refactored by Modula. I’m betting my money on another plugin that’s doing that … πŸ™‚

    1. Could have been aggressive client/server caching?
    2. Yeah, that is to be expected with the Custom Grid. There’s no way to preserve the same image ratios on mobile/tablet. That’s why we’ve introduced the Custom Responsiveness feature.
    3. You probably missed this, well, actually, it’s not really even documented (our bad). However, hovering over an item in the custom grid, clicking on edit and locating the “Alignment” section might be exactly what you’re looking for.

    Right now, there’s no option to fill the space with a color.

    Your suggestions are good (all suggestions are good, at this point). I’m not 100% sure though I understood what you’re trying to achieve. So, the images you’re uploading are smaller than the “frame” … Is there any way you could elaborate this a little more?

    4. Has been answered in first part of my message …

    Much love,
    /Cristian.

    The URL is https://cloud-initiative.de/index.php/kunden/

    The site already looks like I wanted, no need to change sth. I couldn’t get it to work at first, but since we are writing I gave it another try and this time I got it working. Thank you.

    I haven’t looked into how CSS is handled in Modula. I only know that the CSS from the built-in Customizer tool leaves the CSS unformatted.

    @cristianraiber-1 Please have a look at the website. The hover effect is still on (look closely). Due to my css styling I think it is white now and not black and thus harder to see.

    I fixed it using the following css. However, I think using “!important” is a sign of monkey patching. I think the “disable hovering” should be fixed as it is not working any more.

    .modula-item:hover img,
    .modula .modula-items .modula-item.tg-loaded:hover img.pic
    {
    	opacity:1.0 !important;
    }

    @ftrippel,

    You’re correct. I checked this on my end as well and the hover effect ‘None’ will only remove caption/title but will still darken the image on hover.
    I opened a ticket regarding it and it will be addressed in a future update.

    Thank you so much for your feedback.

    Warmly,
    Mihaela
