    This plugin is great, I used it for about 2 months, and it just did what I wanted it to do. But since the last updates this is just not happening. Yeah, new options are there, that’s nice. I still working to make this functional on my website again.

    So, if you are installing this and it works, you are very lucky and you will use a great plugin. If it doesn’t… well… Maybe is easier to find another 🙁

    EDIT: it worked again, I just have to edit all my products, delete the gallery and create them again… Don’t know why this change, the plugin could do the work in the same way it did before (automatically). Also, there is no way to make this work as it did before.

    Also, when you assign a picture to a viariation it will change all the tumbnails.

    Hope this have a feature in the future to change the way it works and keep the old way.

    EDIT 2: Nothing in life is perfect, but the support and work put in this plugin (is free also) is incredible. Going to test PRO in next weeks. 🙂

    New Edit: this plugin is now adding automatically a single picture on thumbnails for every single variation… and can’t disable that… Since the update is just a different plugin! 🙁

    Hi!

    Hope you could have waited a few more days since I am working on some improvements and some other approaches.
    I don’t know why you edited all your products since none of the back-office code had changed to make you do that, the only changes are in the front-side of it.

    FYI you can roll-back to a version that was operational at anytime. Just go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-variations-images/developers/
    Download version 3.0.2.

    I will be releasing a updated version.

    Well, the last version just changed the image using the one that I configured for the variation, in this new version I must select the picture and the variation from the product Gallery (I understand that this is an upgrade, because now I can create a Gallery for each Variation, very smart I must say). So, to make this work I just deleted my products galleries and added new galleries with the new configuration.

    I also removed the thumbnails, because those are created based on the number of variations and not the number of pictures inside the product Gallery (several variations in my site uses the same picture, so the thumbnails look weird since it will look the same picture over and over again, and I can’t change that). Finally, I got this plugin working but not as good as it perform before.

    I hope this get better, maybe I can buy the pro version and stop bothering you hehe 🙂

    Humpf…

    I did try to make it flow better, since there where several reports of not including the default image and so on, so I added it.
    I did add some functionality but nothing that would cause major difference, at least not in my tests 🙁
    My main focus was to turn it more compatible with more themes while giving a faster response on swapping images.

    BTW: From reading your post I now realise that you say “Well, the last version just changed the image using the one that I configured for the variation”. My plugin doesnt(never) used the image supplied on the variation, it always used the images supplied on the product gallery and from there you would setup what pictures show for what variation.

    Maybe I misunderstood…

    I really love how you make things with this plugin. I want to change this to a 5 stars just for that 🙂 hope the system lets me do that tomorrow.

    Actually after the last update nothing have changed (at least for me). I will make more test. At least my website is working again!

    I will create a support thread and I will try to help with this issues.
