  • Plugin is great if you are under the free plan limit but if you have more than 25K users registered on your website, you will have to pay $400 per month to use the plugin, which in my opinion is very expensive and can be more expensive than your hosting bills every month. It’s my personal opinion and depends on each website. You have to consider, how important is this plugin and more importantly, how many times people use the points on your website. Ofcourse pricing is entirely decision of plugin author so we can’t say much about it.

    However what I find is downright unprofessional is the message they start showing automatically to every user, when try to see their points – ‘Your Account is Restricted’. We start getting angry customers wanting to know, why we have restricted their accounts, some even don’t understand that it’s only their Loyalty account which is restricted and not the account on website as such. I think the message’s idea is basically to embarrass the plugin users and strong-arm them to upgrade ASAP. In my opinon message should have been subtle and non-damaging to reputation of website owner and should be changed. Upgrade notices and emails should only be displayed privately in admin. Normal users can see some neutral message like -‘Points not available, right now’ or something like that.

    Please allow us to clarify and share our thoughts:

    Gratisfaction is more than just a points system. In fact Gratisfaction allows you to run campaigns without assigning points and instead you can run campaigns assigning bonus entries (aka sweepstakes or giveaways) or instant rewards (aka instant win campaigns).

    Our goal (and we are working towards achieving this) is to offer our customers a comprehensive set of features in Gratisfaction that will help you across the sales funnel.

    Currently, in addition to the points system, you can run refer-a-friend campaigns, Instant win campaigns, Sweepstakes and giveaways, Birthday and any number of life moments celebration rewards (we call this Celebrate events). We also recently launched ‘post purchase’ campaigns (aka Purchase for a chance to win).

    And each and every enhancement and additional feature that we have delivered to date has been included for free and has been included in all the plans, even the free plan.

    We believe that businesses require multiple set of features and tools to be able to achieve different objectives (e.g. increased visitors, increased sign ups, sales, leads , referrals, loyalty, etc) and our intention is to keep enhancing the product so as to help you achieve these different goals.

    All of the features are included in all of our plans (except the footer credit, which is an optional add-on).- There are no restrictions and no limitation to the use of the features. SO there are no surprises.

    Currently, The next plan after 25K users is the UNLIMITED Users plan and this means you will not pay a cent more.
    Based on your feedback, we will definitely consider adding more plan tiers in the near future.

    Re upgrades: As you mentioned we do show upgrade notification in admin. Additionally, we send you two upgrade email notifications as well- . Even then If you do not upgrade, no worries, users within the current plan tier will continue to work absolutely fine and are able to access/use all of the features. And, you as the admin will also be able to access and use all of the features for e.g. launch any number of new campaigns. New users are also able to sign up to all of your campaigns (e.g. enroll in your loyalty and referral program, sign up to any number of your sweepstakes, instant win or other campaigns)- So you will continue to collect leads. However, these new users are unable to access / use all of the features seven days from the date of upgrade notification. Based on your feedback, we will also look at providing another notification in admin of the plan limit approaching (e.g. when 90% of the plan limit reached). So this will give our customers more time to organize upgrade.
