    I have been looking for this kind of plugin for a while, so easy and simple. i will like to know if it is possible to choose which category to show post from.

    I want to keep the plugin small and fast. You can extend the widget with a category filter by the great Jetpack’s “Widget Visibility” module. It is also available as a stand-alone plugin: JP Widget Visibility.

    With the new version 4.0 you can select a category to display only posts of the selected category.
