• I’m using this plug-in on one of my blogs for a while now. IMO Yoast really needed some competition, and I should admit, RankMath is a great alternative. It does most(not all) of the things Yoast is able to do, and offers some of Yoast’s premium features for free.

Obviously this is just my observations and I can be wrong too. But here, I’m listing my observations.

    Good stuff about RankMath:
    – Support for multiple keywords (free)
    – Amazing support for rich snippets
    – Giving a score for your post or focus keywords
    – Handling utf-8 better than competitors
    – It checks some stuff Yoast doesn’t. Which is great.
    – Its development is fast, and it is quite new so it deserves some love.

Not so great stuff (based on my experiences):

    – It doesn’t count the keywords from the table-of-contents area. AND sometimes, when RankMath says “good keyword density” (for example, around 2.45) most other seo plug-ins say “This is too much.” which makes more sense to me actually. This is not actually a problem until you realise RankMath doesn’t count “having thing for something” if your focus keyword is “having thingS for something”. Which means your actual keyword density might be %5 and you don’t even realize it.
    – Behaviour of the place where you insert keywords is either broken or just bad in terms of UX. It adds a star to the first focus keyword, I get that part. But let me give you an example:
First focus keyword is green, and rating is 87/100. Good so far.
Second focus keyword is red. If I click it(without moving it), it becomes green! rating becomes 42/100. No problem. But first one turns into red?? Why?
If I click first focus keyword again, second focus keyword stays green. Why?
If I move the second(now green) keyword to the first place, and then move it back to the second place, it becomes yellow and stays yellow. Until I click it back. Which makes it green again.

    My suggestions:
    – Update this tool to be more… sentient? BERT is on its way.
    – If it is possible, any sign for comparing the keywords of a single post in terms of competition for those keywords would be a killer feature. We would easily know which focus keyword gives us better chance on ranking high.

Stuff making me slightly concerned(probably doesn’t worth reading):
In my opinion, staff is not acting professional enough. Some of RankMath’s responses to 1 star ratings sound a little bit unprofessional. Also the warning message which appears when you install another seo plug-in sounds more like “This plug-in is our competitor. Deactivate that plug-in! Or your website will be completely gone, forever!!!” when it should sound more like “The code of plug-in XXXXX is known for conflicting with RankMath. Please deactivate it or there might be serious data loss.”
