Great news ticker, very responsive developer

Usually I reserve my 5-star ratings for plugins that are perfect, and while this plugin does need a few feature enhancements, mostly in improving flexibility in styling, it works very well and the developer is VERY responsive and does have plans that include such improvements (among others).

I wanted a very simple ‘ticker’ to display post titles in one place in my theme, and this fit the bill very nicely – it does exactly that. It supports filtering by category, and also supports custom post types. It’s lightweight with little overhead and doesn’t slow my page load. You can specify how many post titles to display, whether to include the date or not, and some basic background color options and border options.

The built-in widget doesn’t have as many options yet (but a future version will include that) but it was very simple to generate the shortcode with all of the options I wanted, and paste that into a text widget, which accomplished the same thing.

All in all I’m happy with this plugin – it does a great job!
