    This was exactly what I was looking for, but loading large files (like functions.php) takes way too long to be useful for any real development. Will revisit in future releases if speed improvements is in the changelog.

    I admit that it’s slow at least for the first use.
    The editarea.js itself, it’s too large for a JavaScript file (no update from the author since 2010).
    It detects not only PHP/HTML/CSS script which WordPress use, but also many other languages like Python, HTML, XML, VB, C, CPP, SQL, Pascal, Basic and manymore. And unfortunately I have no idea how to remove all others that’s not used in WordPress.
