Tons of work for developing and supporting this plugin, and only thing you care and ranked 3 stars is where the log is stored???

I really hope you are not using it any more!!!

If you don’t care about performance ? really?

And this is open source, why do not you accept the comments?

    Performance??
You have more stupid things to say?
I can see you have no idea about WordPress plugins eco system.

The plugin had perfect 5 stars reviews untill you wrote your ungrateful comment.

    (@jatiyanon)

You just hated speech and unreasonable.
OK, I will talk about knowledge even you ever care, if I have 100k products from woo and 100+ orders per day. Can you calculate the number of emails? If you log every email in the same place (post table), how many rows will go per day?. OK now if you don’t see any impact on performance. I’m done.

Stupid stuff again, Post SMTP will always log the last 250 emails.
Every major plugin like contact form 7, woocommerce and more saving in the posts table.
Do me a favor and really stop writing, you show exectly what I say – with your knowledge the only plugin you can review it’s “Hello Dolly”.

Wow! I really like this plugin, but the agressive attitude of yehudah towards someone with a reasonable comment and rating is quite shocking and very unprofessional in my opinion. Do you really think this attitude is justified?

Instead you could have written something like “I’m sorry you’re not a 100% happy with the plugin. Can you explain why you think logging to post table is bad?”

    @argosmedia

unprofessional? This is the problem when peoples don’t understand open source, and think they paying me a salary.

I develop, support, pay from my pocket and time to make Post SMTP alive.
I’m not a milion dollars company just one man show.

So when someone rush to give bad comment on a minor thing that has nothing to performance I will be very angry!

I will accept any security, bugs, or any stuff that really make the plugin diffcult to use.

Any user that has problems with my “attitude” he is more then welcome to disable it!

    Plugin Author yehudah

    (@yehudah)

    P.S

A lot more after that comment, I got a few tickets that people are logging big amounts of logs (a lot more then 250). Because of that reason only in future release I will change the logging to seperate table.

So because you offer e free product someone is not allowed to say he dislikes some aspect of it? Maybe this person was wrong in his assumption, but then it’s your job to kindly educate him, instead of attacking him. He did not give you a 1 star for nothing, nor was he rude to you. He just said that he doesn’t like something about it, that’s all.

Just like we are free to use it or not, we are free to criticise it. That is also the spirit of open source. And that is what the review section is about. To rate the plugin. If you think a rating or comment is not right or not justified you could explain your point of view, instead of being angry, rude and insulting. It’s actually an opportunity to educate the user, and promote the plugin and yourself.

We all read reviews, especially the bad ones because they can tell a lot about the plugin. And the response of the author says a lot about the author. And if the author explains why the commenter may be wrong, we credit the author for being professional and nice about it. Being nice and professional towards the users of your plugin has nothing to do with the fact if you’re being paid or not. It’s your choice to publish, maintain, and support the plugin. Please accept that there are users that like the plugin, but also have some criticism. That may reflect in their ratings. And you have nothing to complain about the ratings anyway.

As I sad above, I have no problem to get the right criticise. I even welcome it!
If he would say “the plugin crash my site” I would do everything to help him.

it’s your job to kindly educate him

Are you kidding me? Really? Let’s add a few coding lessons for free to… no way!!!

That is also the spirit of open source. And that is what the review section is about.

Agree, and I can answer to any review the way I see right.
I am a person too, and no one will criticise me the way he feel like.

We all read reviews, especially the bad ones because they can tell a lot about the plugin.

Sure, again I love to learn and improve.
The users know I listen to them and try adjust myself.
A review is not god, the user is not god.
I can accept or not accept.

That was nice chatting with you but we will not agree.
Please accept my sorry but I will not answer any more.

If you feel you still want to educate me you can join the plugin slack channel and talk with me in private.
    You can join Here

From 16:20 gmt+3 I will not be avaliable for 14 hours.

    Have a nice day.

Thanks for your replies. Have a nice day too.

@yehudah I completely understand where you are coming from.. However @argosmedia is completely right about your response style.. But again regardless whether you are offering a free product or not, you should still learn to accept constructive criticism of your work and not respond with aggression and unprofessional like you are doing here.

Your actions could turn off potential customers/users away, hence resulting in you giving up on this great plugin.

That said, I will proceeding in downloading this plugin and making some donation because I simply do not believe in free labour/product.

You on other hand, should lear to adjust your attitude.

This is one of major common problems with single-author plugins.. Their reactions become very personal.

And oh btw, your plugin was recommended by another great product WPEasyCart.. and this how I personally found and trusted it.

    Hello @obi55

You are absolutely right! After spending many hours of my private time, time with my family, and more this plugin is very personal so as I said above I will not accept any comment that disrespect that.

As I see it the rating given here because the logs are not in a place the reviewer likes although many plugins put there, really made me angry.

I learned that many users respect my work even when I fail a lot with cases that are much worse from this review and if they give me a bad review I could not even write a word on my behalf, but as you see they didn’t.

That said, I don’t have an “attitude” and my behavior will remain the same but I will think twice if it’s worth the time answering.
