Support » Plugin: Inline Footnotes » Great but…

  • I love that there is now finally a plugin that allows Grantland (R.I.P.!) style footnotes. That’s awesome!

However, to make it really useful – at least for me – two things would need to work:

Links in footnotes. Currently any footnote I define ends with the word before the first word I put a link behind – even though the closing shortcode tag obviously comes way later. That basically makes the plugin unusable for me. In case there is a workaround: Please let me know! 🙂

The 2nd thing is way less serious but more of a comfort/usability issue: It would be pretty awesome to do more customization in the plugin. I use a somewhat advanced theme and I think its CSS etc makes the footnotes look somewhat suboptimal. I believe I could fix that by tweaking the CSS though.

    Cheers
    Thomas

You’re welcome! In case you’d try fixing the first issue please let me know if I can do anything testing-wise – I’d be glad to help.

Also: Props for making it work seamlessly on mobile devices. It works pretty well! Maybe even better than the Grantland-version which was somewhat fiddly, at least on my phone, whereas your version works just fine! (I keep referring to Grantland b/C I believe it might be the inspiration; even more so after having found your shotchart tool ^^ – sorry if I’m mistaken)

Version 1.0.1 should fix your “HTML in footnotes” issue, as well as some general bugs. Hope you like it! https://wordpress.org/plugins/inline-footnotes/changelog/
