   Works in progress. For people new to WP / CSS – is this helpful ? Too much /
   little information ? Is it clear enough ? How could it be improved ? For people
   who know more than me (and that’s a lot of you!) – what have I missed ? what
   errors have crept in ? (I know they are there) I plan on doing one for the header,
   one for the footer. I was thinking of doing one for the overall div layout, but
   I’m not entirely sure. The ‘target audience’ would be someone who is unsure of
   CSS but who wants to make basic cosmetic changes to their page. It does crossover
   to an extent with the CSS guide that NM wrote, but the front page to what I am
   doing says to read his guide in conjunction with it. (I went to add this as a
   Wiki page but I completely forgot how to do it, so I wandered here instead).
   Validation issues will be sorted before the pages are finalised – the tags are
   there purely as part of the template right now. Feel free to email me with any
   suggestions too podz at ukbodyart dot org

 * It looks great. Some tips, if you don’t mind:
    Distinguish between the sections,
   either by indenting the text over but leaving the numbers as a hanging indent
   or by adding horizontal rules/borders/something to distinguish a border. Maybe
   both. The page looks like it lacks structure, which I think could really help.
   Also adding pre blocks with margins would help. But it looks good! Keep it up!
   😀

 * I agree about the structure, and thanks for the suggestions. I’ve made a couple
   of changes. I’m still not totally happy with the layout, but it’s much better
   now 🙂

 * Great job, podz!
    Justa suggestion — could you add a link to this thread on the
   previous thread where you said its now in a new thread? I read that other thread
   earlier in the day, and searched for this thread in vain and now I am seraching
   for the other thread but can’t find it. All these threads!! My fingers are thread-
   tied 🙂

    Should have done that in the first place ….. I blame Diablo2 🙂

 * Awwww………..ta !!
    (I’ll keep it on ice though .. gave up drink last year – 405
   days actually 🙂 ) And I’ll get back to that guide ….. Hint: when you have things
   to do, do not preface it with a ‘short’ hack around on D2!

 * Front page added, and a couple of small changes to the other pages within:
    [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/graphicalcss/index.html](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/graphicalcss/index.html)
   and a plug for the other guide I did a while a go: [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/ftp/](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/ftp/)

 * Footer guide done.
    The published pages are all xhtml valid too now. Apologies
   for the quality of the screenshots – I’m crap at graphics stuff. Header info
   tomorrow 🙂

 * Header CSS now covered.
    Blockquote style added to the Content page. I don’t *
   think* there are any errors, but if you do see any, let me know and I’ll rectify
   them asap. Anyone think of anything else to be added … – switching to a left
   column ? – using the div rap ?

 * [@podz](https://wordpress.org/support/users/podz/). Thank you for your really
   useful and technically excellent contribution in this area. Both your last two
   ideas would be handy. A lot of folk want a header right across, and to reduce
   the page width (better to show off the squid fingers BG and drop shadow ) 🙂 .
   Straight away they need to edit the index and right off the bat can get into
   difficulties.

 * No problem .. I’ll get to it later 🙂

 * Okay.
    There is now a section that covers using the #rap div and how to put background
   images onto the page. See anything wrong, let me know ? (I’ve not covered drop
   shadow simply because I’ve not used it. I’ll have a look and will add once I
   know what I’m doing).

 * Heck podz I was not suggesting you get into drop shadows yourself. 🙂 I was just
   saying that a lot of folks might want to narrow the page a bit. You are doing
   a really cool job. A picture is always worth a thousand words. A lot of new starters
   are going to be really grateful..

 * Just checked it out again for you podz and you are right on the money. I have
   got my own rap closing after the footer. Not quite sure what happens if you do
   not and then move the rest of the page laterally I dare not try it. I don’t think
   you mentioned it at all but I might have missed it.
    You use the word white for
   your bg a couple of times. No reason why not but it is inconsistent with the
   rest. Finally and it is a pity to mention it but the css of the tutorial is pretty
   narrow in my opinion. I have a 15 inch tft so about 17 inch equivalent. With
   my sidebar in view (FF) the whole layout disintegrates and the fine graphic bursts
   right out. The shame is that there is in fact bags of room to spare. Hope you
   don’t mind me mentioning it because I am a big supporter of what you are doing
   here but my type of screen is not uncommon (laptops) etc. HTH.

 * [@anon](https://wordpress.org/support/users/anon/) – drop shadows ? Will be fun
   to learn 🙂
    And yes, the CSS is a wee bit narrow isn’t it. I see the same ‘break
   through’ effect when I open the bookmarks bar. I’ve just widened it by 20% –
   that should help…. White ….. I must have read it too many times to see what you
   mean, but if it could be in the least bit confusing for someone, let me know ?
   If though if it from quoted code, then I’d rather it stay exactly like that code.
   Like I said though, I can’t see where you mean . And thanks for the feedback!
