• Hello and many thanks for your plugin again!
I try to use gradient property for the button type. It slightly works until there are a more than one readmore plugin on the page. If so, gradient appear/disappears for all blocks with readmore together just you expand just one.
Unfortunately I didn’t find workaround of it, so would be happy if you fixed it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The other desired thing with gradient would be, to to be allowed to have the text gradiented not above [expander_maker id=N] but below, like:

    [expander_maker id=N]
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Phasellus a placerat tortor. Duis at cursus nisi. Phasellus vehicula convallis consequat. Vivamus id turpis vel diam lacinia bibendum eget vitae odio. Integer iaculis non odio sit amet congue. Vivamus facilisis, orci ut bibendum vehicula, eros metus eleifend lacus, blandit ornare nisi nisi eget urna. Vivamus varius luctus tincidunt.
    [/expander_maker]

to see graduated just a couple of graduated rows when it’s collapsed to avoid divide text on unnecessary paragraphs or blocks.

    Many thanks in advance!!!

    Dear @forcesail,

I checked seems all gradient options worked correctly.
About your desired option so you want to show gradient under the read more button Instead of the top?

    Thread Starter Alexander Guskov

    (@forcesail)

    Thank you, @edmonparker.

    1) I made screenshot video for you where you can observe that gradient disappear in all blocks just one is expanding.
    [video src="https://forcesail.ru/files/readmore-fade.mp4" /]

    2) I don’t want to care for splitting text on that is above expander_maker (that is visible and gradiented when the other text is collapsed) and other text, dividing it on additional blocks. So I want that [expander_maker] can leave some part of the text visible and gradiented by itself, collapsing the block, like I explained it in the comment above. If you did that the plugin would be unique.

    3) As well I’d be happy to have 3 options of collapsing: completed (like now), partial (tuned) and expanded.

    4) My happiness would be unlimited if plugin had a shortcode to activate expanding and collapsing all blocks on the page.

But now I’m enjoying your pluging thanking you!

    Dear @forcesail,

Thank for the video I noticed and we will fix it on our next update.

2.Could you please give more details about that? Do you want to some part of above read more will show when you enable gradient? or what I would like to know more details.

    3. Do you mean about partial example expand half of the hidden text?

    4. Actually we have automatic option but not in a free version. It works correctly when the post content only text. (about that feature I can speak here because this forum only for free users).

    (@forcesail)

Ok. I’ll try to explain on example.
Going back to my page https://forcesail.ru/%d1%8f%d1%85%d1%82%d1%8b-%d1%8f%d1%85%d1%82%d0%b8%d0%bd%d0%b3/

I have to write something like:
    <h2>ThIS IS HEADER</h2>
<p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Phasellus a placerat tortor. </p>
    [expander_maker id=N]
<p>`Sed eu viverra elit, fringilla placerat quam. Duis at cursus nisi. Phasellus vehicula convallis consequat. Vivamus id turpis vel diam lacinia bibendum eget vitae odio. Integer iaculis non odio sit amet congue. Vivamus facilisis, orci ut bibendum vehicula, eros metus eleifend lacus, blandit ornare nisi nisi eget urna. Vivamus varius luctus tincidunt.
    [/expander_maker]

How you can see, to show some gradiented text from the block of text when the it’s collapsed I had to split in illogically onto 2 paragraphs. Moreover I had to split it illogically but just to fill the exact space that I tuned for gradient. Of mobile phone? for example, it works different.

it would be perfect to have an option to tune the space that I what to leave visible but gradiented when the block of text is collapsed just setting the ReadMore item and writing on the page like (text block in not split into paragraphs):

    <h2>ThIS IS HEADER</h2>
    [expander_maker id=N]
<p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Phasellus a placerat tortor. Duis at cursus nisi. Phasellus vehicula convallis consequat. Vivamus id turpis vel diam lacinia bibendum eget vitae odio. Integer iaculis non odio sit amet congue. Vivamus facilisis, orci ut bibendum vehicula, eros metus eleifend lacus, blandit ornare nisi nisi eget urna. Vivamus varius luctus tincidunt.

    Dear @forcesail,

So you want to have a gradient and space for do not read more gradient override your this paragraph?

    Not excitedly.
I want to write a long text split or not to the paragraphs without caring after of breaking the paragraph to insert [expander_maker] at the proper place. It doesn’t work good because:
    1) It’s necessary to split the text that breaks the logic of the text.
    2) Any way it looks differently on different devices (computer, phone …)

I want to have some number of rows of text visible independently of paragraph and devices when it’s collapsed. (So it’s collapsing not completely but some space is still visible but gradiented.

    Hello @edmonparker.
    Thank you.

I mind, that I’d be perfect if the gradient area didn’t depend of the amount of text, but of the tuned height of the area. Try to open page that I linked above on computer and on mobile screen and observe the difference in the view of the text above “read more” that ideally should be the same height and gradiented (now it’s the same amount of text and graduated differently).

    Hello @edmonparker
I’m sorry but I can’t because it won’t exist until you will have made it.

But I believe that I explained above what I mind with a lot of examples.
