Support » Plugin: Waymark » gpx-problems and suggestions

  • Dear Joe,
    thanks for your continuing work on this great plugin. If clustering is realized it satisfies all my needs.
    I run into some issues when testing your plugin. I realized three maps in one blog post: I included markers, some discriptions and pics only in the first map together with a gallery. This worked quite well, but I found that the pop-up balloons do adjust in size when only text is added. Instead the a scroll bar appears. I would suggest to adjust the text ballooon size according to the text to be displayed.

    In the second map I realized two gpx paths. I used the shortcodes [Waymark map_id=”4036″ basemap=”OpenTopoMap” show_gallery=”0″]. Somehow the gpx tracks are not clickable and the track below the map shows only the first gpx track. If “show_gallery” is removed it works well… Is it a bug?

    In the third map I also included a gpx path. Here the path is clickable. However when clicked, the red color of the path changes to the color of the gpx graph below. I would suggest to change only the outline of the path i.e. red path stays red but becomes highlighted by the color choosen for the gpx graph. This is only a suggestion 🙂

    Regards and thanks for your work!

    Hi @chris071182,

    If clustering is realized it satisfies all my needs.

    It’s on the list, but it’s a big one! 🙂 Please feel free to provide links to real-world examples of clustering you like, stuff like that helps a lot.

    Thanks for the feedback:

    I found that the pop-up balloons do adjust in size when only text is added. Instead the a scroll bar appears. I would suggest to adjust the text ballooon size according to the text to be displayed.

    This is a weird one. For some reason I am seeing quite a lot of additional HTML that has been saved within the Marker’s description. For example:

    <div class="leaflet-popup-content-wrapper">
      <div class="leaflet-popup-content">
        <div class="umsMarkerDesc">
          ...
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>

    This extra HTML is causing the display issues you describe, however I am a bit confused as to how it got there. Have you done anything out of the ordinary surrounding Markers? If not then this could definitely be a bug in Waymark.

    Somehow the gpx tracks are not clickable and the track below the map shows only the first gpx track. If “show_gallery” is removed it works well… Is it a bug?

    It could be yes. I am not able to replicate this on my end. Could you try creating a new Map and provide the steps you take to replicate this behavior (as simple as possible)? Could you also provide me with links to the two GPX files (I tried downloading them from your site, but there was a problem with one). Also, I noticed that the GPX file contained a lot of HTML in it’s description, that is a possibility for issues, so you might want to try a file without any HTML.

    I would suggest to change only the outline of the path i.e. red path stays red but becomes highlighted by the color choosen for the gpx graph. This is only a suggestion

    Understood, I’ll put it on the list to look in to!

    Just so you know, there is a beta version of the plugin ready for testing should you have any interest.

    Cheers,

    Joe
