 * Hi, I just realized that it is not recommended to edit theme’s core files, as
   all theme customizations will be lost after an update. I am not sure whether
   I am using a child theme currently, if I am not using, what should I do now to
   prevent any customization loss in future without re-doing the entire site?

 * Hi there,
 * Child theme is not necessary but you can download a blank one here if you’d like:
   [https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/](https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/)
 * All the customizer options will be saved. You will just need to copy what you’ve
   changed in the core file to the child theme.
