• Esteemed bloggers.
I have been using the excellent plugin Google XML Sitemaps from http://www.arnebrachhold.de/
Since upgrading to WP 2.5.1 I have started to use the post tags feature to add useful tags to my blog posts.
Is there anyway to include the tags in the sitemap such that these will be indexed by Google et al?
On reading various forums it seems that this was possible using the old Ultimate Tag Warrior tag system and various associated plugins. But it does not seem possible with the new standard WP post tags.

  • well, actually, the sitemaps feature tells google which pages to crawl and how often… so once it gets to crawling them, it’ll touch your tags as well as the rest of your post.

    Hi,

just check the “Include tag pages” option located at the “Sitemap Content” box on the Sitemap plugin configuration page 🙂

ohhh the tag pages is what he means… my bad.

I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear.. Do you have a better description? English is not my native language…

no no, you were quite clear, the original poster was not (at least not to me).

Apologies for not being clear. Ivovic’s first answer was the solution that I was looking for. I think that I need to wait until I have a few more posts with tags to see the results in the search engines.

Thanks for all the replies, Arnee – thanks for a great plugin.
