  • Google Video Problem:
    Hi, I am having problems in embedding any google video into the WordPress Mu Ver-1.0

    Is it possible to have a streaming google video on wordpress without using any plugin (Extreme video etc..). I thought wordpress has inbuilt support for google videos.

    For example I want to embed this video at: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=86918197086997488

    I tried this:

    [googlevideo=http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=86918197086997488&hl=en]

    but it didn’t add any video but only text as it is.

    Any suggestion about how to add this video on wordpress without using any plugin. Please help.

    Thanks, -Dina

  • Turn off the Wysiwyg editor. Users -> Your Profile, uncheck the box.

    Grab the embed code for the video, paste it into the Post Editor.

    <embed style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=86918197086997488&hl=en" flashvars="&subtitle=on"> </embed>

    Thanks “HandySolo”. you suggestion worked on a regular installation of WordPress, but I did the same thing on WordPress-Mu installation, it doesn’t work.

    This WordPress-Mu installation is administered by someone else, and I have created one weblog for myself on this. As per your suggestion I turned off Wysiwyg and added the “embed” code from google-video, but as soon as I hit “Save and Continue Editing”, the “<embed ..>” code just vanishes (from the editor). It is just lost.

    Any ideas? Do you think the ADMIN of the WordPress-Mu installation needs to make any changes?

    Thanks

    I know jack and squat about mu. 🙂

    Try the MU support forums? http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/
