    Hi Dan. After the last update, I started seeing traffic labelled “Google” on the technology section of GADWP. I dug into my analytics and found the Traffic is coming from Google Nexus 5. And it has the most views. However, its bounce rate is 0.86% which means there must be an error. This happened after activating stealth mode. Try to check under Audience>Mobile>Devices in your analytics and tell me if you see the same thing. (I have unticked bot traffic in analytics settings since I set up the account too).

    Hi @politicske,

    I’v checked under Audience > Mobile Devices, and I have Stealth mode enabled on two sites, both of them are not showing any strange bounce rates or devices. One has compatibility mode enabled for Monster Insights, the other for WooCommerce integration. Both are showing healthy analytics, nothing seems off. Perhaps it’s a bug in GADWP?

    I manage analytics entirely with this plugin and only use GADWP for viewing stats. Or it might be the new Google algorithm update?

    Hi @politicske,

    I disabled CAOS’ compatibility mode this morning on one of my sites and let it run for the rest of the day, to see if that made a difference and to replicate your settings. But it didn’t, I’m getting most traffic from Apple iPhone, Google Nexus 5 only has 2 hits, but all devices show healthy bounce rates (30 – 50 %).

    So, I think it’s save to say that this is not a CAOS’ issue. Which places it outside the scope of this Support Forum. If you want me to help you sort this out further, please contact me using the contact form on my blog.

    I Deactivated stealth mode and the last day traffic has no Google Nexus in it. Although it broke my Saturday Traffic for like 5 hours. So I guess it might have to do with the plugin in one way or another. I will keep stealth mode deactivated coz it seems to bring more issues than solve them.

    Hmm, so apparently it has something to do with Stealth Mode then?

    That’s interesting. Perhaps it’s somehow related to the User-Agent issue we resolved earlier. Could you do something for me?

    Within your wp-config.php-file, add the following right above /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    This enables debugging, but doesn’t show them on your screen.

    Add the following code to your-wp-content-folder/host-analyticsjs-local/includes/class-caos-proxy.php on line 103 (so right before try {):

    error_log('CAOS: ' . $request->get_header('user_agent'));

    So it should look like this:

    $url = CAOS_GA_URL . '/r/collect' . $query;
    error_log('CAOS: ' .  $request->get_header('user_agent'));
    try {

    Allow this to run for a day, and then share the log file with me (only the entries starting with CAOS:). This might give us a little more insight into the devices actually used on your site.

    Should I set the stealth mode on when I do this?

    Hi @politicske,

    Yes please. The proxy is only used when Stealth Mode is enabled.

    How long do I let this run? (True checked the mobile traffic and Google is showing again after re-enabling stealth mode.)

    Hi Dan. Is there an easier way to filter the logs? Copying and pasting is not really easy with so many logs.
    Forgot about the good old excel sorting. Now your contact form does not allow attaching a file, so direct me how to send the file.

    Hi @politicske,

    You’re right. It makes sense to add a file-upload field to my contact form. So I did!

    Only text-files and images are allowed with a limit of 1mb. So, go ahead!

    I just sent it. Hope it can help to diagnose the issue.

    Hi @politicske,

    I don’t think this is a bug.

    To break it down:
    The log consists of 2.235 lines,
    Of which 1.819 are visits from Android devices varying in version number,
    Of which 438 are one (!) Nexus 5 device.

    So, I guess you just have a lot of visits from one Nexus 5 user. I guess you have a fan! πŸ˜› It’s exactly the same Android version (4.2.1), build (JOP40D) and browser version (Chrome 38.0.1025.166), so I assume it’s the same person/device (or perhaps a test site or uptime checker like pingdom?) This might also explain the insanely low bounce rate, because it’s like he never leaves.

    In anyway, I think it’s safe to assume that there’s no bug. If you have any other insights or ideas on this I’d be happy to inspect further, but I really don’t think this is a bug.

    Might be the uptime checker (uptime robot) which I have set to every five minutes. Any way to bypass this?

    I would exclude it from your Analytics reports by setting up a filter.
