Hi @andersjytzler,
Thanks for getting in touch. The plugin doesn’t have any sitemap specific functionality, however, there is built in sitemap functionality within WordPress, as of version 5.5. You’ll find more details on this below: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2020/07/22/new-xml-sitemaps-functionality-in-wordpress-5-5/
You can check your WordPress sitemap directly by adding a /wp-sitemap.xml
suffix to your site URL. You can also submit any sitemap, such as the default WordPress sitemap, or the one generated by another plugin, directly from the Search Console web interface.
Let me know if you have any further questions on this.
@jamesosborne Thanks for the fast answer.
Related question regarding the sitemap and Search Console. Would it be enough to upload the /wp-sitemap.xml sitemap? Or would i have to upload each sitemap from the /wp-sitemap.xml URL manually?
Fx. /wp-sitemap-posts-page-1.xml
and also /wp-sitemap-users-1.xml
No problem @andersjytzler. While I assume submitting the /wp-sitemap.xml
sitemap is fine, you may wish to check this with the product experts over on the Search Console Help Center. I can’t be certain and I certainly don’t want to give you the wrong information!
Thanks again for your answer. I will check with the Search Console help center 👍
Great! And you know where to find us if you have any queries with the plugin. Best of luck.
