I feel for other concerns opening a new support thread would be great for new people going through my query and finds a solution, else people will get confused about soo many queries in a single thread, and therefore Please close the thread, for now, Thank You!!

@businesskabaap Thanks for posting your solution! I had the same problem (Data Error in Analytics on Dashboard, but correct data in Analytics tab) and unchecking the checkmark in iThemes Security -> System Tweaks -> Filter long URL strings fixed also the problem for me! Many thanks!!

    Thank you @businesskabaap

For me also it was iThemes in the System Tweaks setting. I have 5 sites that were working well with Site Kit, and 7 sites with the error message.
All the sites that were working had “Long URL Strings” unticked.
All the sites that get the error had “Long URL Strings” ticked.
When I unticked “Long URL Strings” the problem was resolves immediately in every instance.

I “also” had the same problem (Data Error in Analytics on Dashboard, but correct data in Analytics tab) and unchecking the checkmark in iThemes Security -> System Tweaks -> Filter long URL strings fixed also the problem for me! Many thanks !!

Just complemented: I checked the option again in iThemes Security -> System Tweaks -> Filter long URL strings but now Analytics on Dashboard continued to work correctly!

    Strange behavior!!!!!

    I’m sorry!

Over time and the option iThemes Security -> System Tweaks -> Filter long URL strings checked returned to the same initial error (Data Error in Analytics on Dashboard, but correct data in Analytics tab).

@josemario Thanks for sharing your insights. We’re currently investigating this and checking what can be done on the Site Kit site. In the meantime great that you were able to apply (and share) these configurations.

@jamesosborne, thanks for posting your comment!

Just to keep you all informed that a team member did reach out to iThemes and they’ve stated that they’ll be removing this feature in their next major release (8.0 / v7.0 for pro), expected at some stage in early April.

For me also it was iThemes in the System Tweaks setting. Working fine now:)

@jamesosborne, thanks for letting us know!

Thank God. Finally, the issue has gone away with this solution – How to fix WordPress REST API error in Google Analytics.

Just to keep you informed iThemes have depreciated the “Filter Long Query Strings” feature with version 8 of their plugin (changelog). Users in turn should no longer encounter this error when using Site Kit.

    @jamesosborne,

Even aware and seeing the error caused in the plugin “Site Kit by Google” by the feature “Filter Long Query Strings” of “iThemes Security” I chose to keep this feature enabled in “iThemes Security”.

Really… the bug in the “Site Kit by Google” plugin disappeared naturally when I updated “iThemes Security” to version 8.

Thank you for your support and monitoring this issue until its final solution!`

Thanks for reaching out and providing details of the troubleshooting efforts already undertaken. In previous cases there were hosting related firewalls resulting in this notice. Before we perform any such checks please attempt the steps below in order to connect the Analytics module:

Login to your site from a browser incognito window
Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
Attempt to connect Analytics module within Site Kit once more
You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards. Let me know how you get on after attempting the above.`

this one works for me perfectly, thanks
