Google Site Kit reconnection error

    Hello,

    I change the website address from https://website.tld to https://www.website.tld

    Now Site kit tells me to reconnect:

    Looks like the URL of your site has changed. In order to continue using Site Kit, you’ll need to reconnect, so that your plugin settings are updated with the new URL.

    — Old URL: https://website.tld
    — New URL: https://www.website.tld

    but when I try to I get this error:

    The request to the authentication proxy has failed. Please, try again later.

    I uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried in different browsers but with no success. What should I do?
    I’ve seen another post where the user said he solved by logging out….but I’m already logged out

    Hello @rpetrache thanks for opening a support topic with us. Thanks a lot for all the useful information here this certainly helps.

    Could you please try and follow the steps in our resetting Site Kit guide and afterwards set up your Site Kit once more. This should update the records for your site URL and you should no longer need to keep reconnecting.

    Let me know how this goes for you.

    Hello Adam,

    As I said before, I am logged out. I do not have any options like the ones provided in your link. Please see these images: https://imgur.com/a/V3l9D2q

    I only have the option to sign in and after that, I get the error.

    What should I do in this case?

    @rpetrache Apologies, you can still perform a Site Kit reset by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Let me know if this helps and if not we can continue to troubleshoot your issue.

    My apologies! I was looking for the Tools on the plugin page. They were in the sidebar. Everything it’s working now. Thanks for your help!
