  • Google Authenticator is almost certainly being added to your WordPress site from a security plugin. If you have FTP access to your site, try accessing the /wp-content/plugins/ folder and rename the security plugin folder, if you see one.

If that doesn’t work, try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually (and consider resetting or reconfiguring the security plugin, if you still want to use it).

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Problem solved!
My techie found the FTP access and together we identified valid passwords etc. and could reorganise the homepage.
Lost the stats though, everything else OK!

Oh! Thanks to cleancoded for useful input!
